On this tab the following fields can be found:
On apply the changes/additions/deletions to the grid will be updated in the Company Report Parameters table.
This great is used to add and edit parameters. Input to these parameters is supplied on the Company Reports function. Below follows a description of the fields in the grid:
PARAMETER ID : A Unique identifier for the specific parameter
PARAMETER TYPE : CHECKBOX/COMBO/TEXT/DATE
COMBO: The will create a combo box which is populated with data based on the SQL query (see SQL TEXT) from which you can select an item.
TEXT : A free text field.
DATE: A calendar control from which you can select a date.
CHECKBOX: A checkbox control which will have "Y" or "N" as result when checked/unchecked.
PARAMETER SEQUENCE: This is the sequence from the top in which the parameter will be displayed on the Company Report form.
DISPLAY NAME: This is the label in front of the Combo/Text/Date control as seen on Company Reports s.
REPORT PARAMETER NAME: The name of the Crystal Parameter used in the Crystal Report (See Compatible Crystal Report Design).
SQL TEXT: This is the query used to populate the Combo box control (it will be disabled for other controls). The query must:
Consist of a SELECT statement.
Use "(double quotes) instead of '(single quotes) for actual values. (I.e. select order_number from order_master where order_status = "C")
In the case of LIMITED controls, it must be in the format of: SELECT line_number from order_line where order_number = "~PARID~". Where PARID is the Parameter ID of the control which will limit the current parameter.
SQL TEST BUTTON: This is used to test the syntax of the SQL Text. A message will be displayed with the number of results returned if the Query was accepted. It is important to note that in the case of limited parameters used in the SQL Text, the number of results returned will not be accurate and should be ignored.
MANDATORY : Y/N
Y: If Y, a value has to be entered when the report is run. Spaces will not be allowed.
N: If N, a value to be entered is optional.
DEFAULT VALUE: In the case of DATE and TEXT controls, one can specify a value that will already be selected or filled in when the Company Report is opened.
LIST VALUES: The list values are used when you want to populate a combo [drop down] with custom values. Instead of inserting a SQL Query, you can simply put in comma-delimited values.
POPULATION LENGHT: This is number of characters that needs to be entered before a
COMBO box is populated with values.
BOUND COL NUMBER: This indicates the column in the COMBO box which will serve as the value that is passed to Crystal. (I.E select order_number, order_type from order_master, will populate the COMBO with 2 columns. The Bound column defines which value is actually used).
LIMITED COL. NUMBER: If the parameter is limited by another parameter, then the Limited Column number refers to the column of the "parent" control. If it's a
COMBO box from which data will be used to limit this column. Leave as 0 if control is not limited.
COLUMN HEADINGS: This is the column headings of the COMBO box when populated. The format used is: colheading1, colheading2, colheading3 etc. If no column heading is inserted, only one column will be displayed with a blank column heading.
