The Customised Menu function is used to alter the existing menu structure to satisfy your company's needs.  The way the custom menu is structured will be reflected on the "Book Menu" and the drop down menu structure (not "Specific Function").

Functions can be renamed and excluded.  These custom names will be reflected in the custom structure, "Book Menu", "Specific Function" and the drop down menu structure.

INQUIRE

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Customised Menu with an access allowed of Inquire.

If you do not have inquiry rights, the form is disabled and nothing is displayed.

On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

hmtoggle_plus1Add

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Customised Menu with an access allowed of Change.

The  button is enabled when the user clicks on a menu level in the "Original Menu Structure" or on a function name.

If a level is selected in the "Original Menu Structure", all functions below the selected level will be added to the "Customised Menu Structure".

It will be added to either the selected level in the "Customised Menu Structure" or to the parent of a selected function in the "Customised Menu Structure".

hmtoggle_plus1Custom Function Names List

This list is populated with all physical "P" type functions from the Menu Item table and displays the original function name and the customised name.  The customised name is entered or is

changed on the Customised Menu Structure.

A splitter bar separates the "Original Menu" tree and this grid.  The splitter can be dragged up or down to gain more visibility for either the tree or the list.

hmtoggle_plus1Customised Menu Structure

This tree control reflects the state of the customised menus.  If menus have not been changed, they will be exactly the same as the original structure except that an item "(NEW)" is displayed below them.

The "(NEW)" item can be changed by clicking on the text twice, (not a double click, but similar to changing a file name or directory from within "Windows Explorer").  The level/parent name can have a maximum length of 80 characters.

The "(NEW)" item will reflect a structure to add functions to.  Any new item added will reflect as a new topic in the "Book Menu".

NOTE: We recommend that the number of levels/parents do not exceed 30 as this may result in the "Book Menu" index tabs not being legible.

By clicking twice on an entry in the structure, the user can, customise/type either the level or function name.  The changes will take effect when clicking "Enter" or clicking off the entry that has just changed.

Changes to function names will be displayed in the list immediately.

hmtoggle_plus1Original Menu Structure

This tree control displays the standard menu structure and function names.  The Original Menu Structure cannot be changed.  This structure is used to link function names to the Customised Menu Structure.

It is populated from the Menu Item and Menu Link tables where:

Original Field is set to "1", and

The function type is either Physical "P" or Logical "L".

A splitter bar separates this tree and the "Custom Function Names" grid.  The splitter can be dragged up or down to gain more visibility for either the tree or the grid.

hmtoggle_plus1Rename Function

The selected function's new name can be entered in this field and will be used in the system on clicking of the Change button.

hmtoggle_plus1Remove

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Customised Menu with an access allowed of Change.

The  button is enabled when the user clicks on a function or parent in the "Customised Menu Structure".

If an individual function is selected in the "Customised Menu Structure", it will no longer be displayed under that specific parent.  If the function was set to be displayed under more than one parent level, the other levels/menu structure(s) will remain in tact.

If a parent is selected, the parent structure and its children functions will no longer be visible on the menus.

Two functions may not be completely removed from the menus Profile Access and Customised Menu.  They have to appear under a parent.

hmtoggle_plus1Reset Names

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Customised Menu with an access allowed of Change.

If any function has a custom name the custom name will be removed when the "Names" button is clicked.  This will have no effect on the structure of the custom menu, only the manner in which the functions are referred to.

hmtoggle_plus1Reset Structure

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Customised Menu with an access allowed of Change.

When the "Structure" button is clicked, the Menu Item and the Menu Link tables are updated to discard any changes to the structure of the original menu.  The customised function names will remain in tact though.
