On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

This check box identifies a selected Permit Type as being either active or inactive. In the table, active records will carry a value of 1, whilst inactive records will carry a value of 0.

 

New Permit Types must be added as active.

The ADD button enables when a unique Permit Type is typed, but only if the user has a security profile to which the function Dangerous Goods Regulation has been linked with add-rights.

Click the add-button to insert a new record to the table.

This frame identifies a selected permit type as being applicable to either Dangerous goods regulation OR Controlled defense items regulation.

This setting will govern whether the permit type can be selected when Dangerous goods cross-references or Controlled defense item control types are defined.

The APPLY button enables when a Linked cross-reference record is selected in the list for 'Linked UN numbers for classes", but only if the user has a security profile to which the function Dangerous Goods Regulation has been linked with change-rights.

 

Select the record to be changed, adjust the values as required and click the APPLY button to update the record in the table.

This option indicates the rules for air transportation via Cargo Aircraft of a selected Hazard class and UN number combination.

The options are:

Yes, always allowed

No, always forbidden

Conditionally allowed for a limited quantity only (refer to IATA manual for qty and packaging details)

The CHANGE button enables when an existing Permit Type is selected, but only if the user has a security profile to which the function Dangerous Goods Regulation has been linked with change-rights.

Change the description, active setting or other details and click the change-button to update the record in the table.

The DELETE button enables when an existing Permit Type is selected, but only if the user has a security profile to which the function Dangerous Goods Regulation has been linked with delete-rights.

 

When an attempt is made to delete a Permit Type and the attempt fails since the Permit Type has been linked the cross reference between UN numbers and Hazard classes OR as the Permit Type for a Controlled defense item, future use can be prevented by setting the record to inactive (un-checking the box).

hmtoggle_plus1Hazard Division Code 4

This field is applied to select the Hazard division code to which a UN number is to be linked as a cross-reference.

Only predefined Hazard division codes can be selected (See tab 'Hazard classification').

Once selected, all UN numbers already linked to the Hazard code will be displayed in a list.

When a Hazard division code is selected, all the linked UN numbers will be displayed in the list, with the additional information such as the Permit type and the rules for transportation via Passenger- and Cargo aircraft.

This field allows up to 10 characters and is applied to add permit types for Dangerous goods OR Controlled defense items.

It may represent a type of permit to store or transport dangerous goods (e.g. explosives or flammable gas) OR it may represent a permit or license type related to controlled defense items where end-user licenses are required as per local or international arms trade regulations.

This field allows up to 70 characters to describe the permit type.

The DELETE arrow enables when a Linked cross-reference record is selected in the list for 'Linked UN numbers for classes", but only if the user has a security profile to which the function Dangerous Goods Regulation has been linked with delete-rights.

This field is applied to select the UN ID number to be cross-referenced to the selected Hazard code.

Only predefined UN numbers can be selected (See tab 'UN Numbers').
