Sales Person

To view data on the Sales Person tab, the user must have a security profile linked to the function External Organisation Sales Person with an access allowed of Inquire.

 

When the Sales Person tab is opened a check is performed to determine whether the user has add, change or delete rights.

 

The rows in the grid, the Delete option and the Apply button are enabled according to the user's security rights.

 

On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

The "Apply" button is enabled when a valid organisation has been selected and the user has the required security access.

 

When deleting an existing sales person record and "Apply" is clicked, the sales person record is deleted from the External Org Sales Person table.

 

When adding a new sales person and "Apply" is clicked, the organisation code, sales person, commission percent, and comments are inserted in the External Org Sales Person table.

 

When changing an existing sales person record, and "Apply" is clicked, the fields commission percent, and comments, are updated on the External Org Sales Person table.

It displays a list of all linked sales persons for the selected External Organisation from the External Org Sales Person and Employee Master tables.

 

The "Sales Person" tab is used to define the sales person(s) that has been dealing with a specific customer for the specifying of a commission percentage as an optional feature.

 

The Customer Order and Sales Order Wizard functions will only permit the selection of a sales person where the person has been predefined for the applicable customer.

 

DELETE

When "Delete" is selected and "Apply" is clicked, the sales person record is deleted from the External Org Sales Person table.

 

SALES PERSON

It is populated with the surname, first name, middle initial, and employee ID from the Employee Master table where the status is Active "A".

 

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length".

 

COMMENTS

The user enters any comments for a specific sales person in this field.  This field displays the comments from the External Org Sales Person table.

 

It is an alphanumeric field with a maximum length of 255 characters (optional).

 

PERCENT COMMISSION

The user can enter the commission percentage, for a specific sales person in this field.

 

This field displays the commission percentage from the External Org Sales Person table.  The user can enter any integer value between 0.0000 and 99.9999.

 

This is only an information field and is not referenced elsewhere.

 

ADDING A NEW SALES PERSON

To add a new sales person, click on the "Sales Person" column of the last line in the grid.  A combo box is displayed allowing you to select a person.

 

The "Percent Commission" and "Comments" columns are enabled when a sales person is selected, allowing the user to enter the relevant information.  When the "Apply" button is clicked, the organisation code, sales person, commission percent, and comments are inserted in the External Org Sales Person table.

 

BUSINESS RULES WHEN ADDING A NEW SALES PERSON:

 

1.                An active employee must be selected.

2.                An organisation, that is a debtor, must be selected.

3.                The Percent Commission can be between 0.0000 and 99.9999.

 

CHANGING AN EXISTING SALES PERSON

When changing an existing sales person's information, and the "Apply" button is clicked, the fields commission percent, and comments, are updated on the External Org Sales Person table.

 

BUSINESS RULES WHEN CHANGING A SALES PERSON:

 

1.                An active employee must be selected.

2.                An organisation, that is a debtor, must be selected.

3.                The Percent Commission can be between 0.0000 and 99.9999.
