On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

 

hmtoggle_plus1Add

The user must have a security profile linked to the functionWork Centre with an access allowed of Add.

 

The "Save" button is enabled when entering a work centre that does not exist on the on the Work Centre table.

 

When the "Save" button is enabled, the new work centre is inserted in the Work Centre table.

hmtoggle_plus1Calendar

This box is used to define which calendar is applicable to the work centre. It can either be the standard company calendar or a shift calendar. If a the option shift calendar is selected then a shift name must be selected See also Company Calendar, Calendar and Part Operation functions.

The user must have a security profile linked to the functionWork Centre with an access allowed of Change.

The "Save" button is enabled when an existing work center is selected.  When the "Change" button is clicked, the Work Centre table is updated with the changed data.

hmtoggle_plus1Cost Centre Code

The field is used to define the cost center controlling the selected work center.  It is populated with the cost center and description from the Cost Centre table.

 

If the signed on user is not equal to the division accountant of the current cost centre and the cost centre to be changed is referenced in part operations and order operations where the order line status is closed then the user will be allowed to change the cost centre a warning message will also be displayed.

If order operations exists against a line with a status not equal to closed the user will not be able to change the cost centre. An error message will be displayed informing the user that only the division accountant of the current cost centre can change the cost centre.

 

The division accountant of the current cost centre can always change the cost centre. Mail will be sent to the work centre planner when a cost centre has been changed by the division accountant

 

The cost center rates for labour; variable overhead cost, and the fixed overhead cost will be used when calculating the cost of operations where the selected work center has been selected for the execution of the operation(s).

 

Note: The Cost Centre Code need not be specified when the Work Centre is external.

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Work Centre with an access allowed of Delete.

 

The delete will not be performed if this Work Centre has part or order operations linked to it on the following tables:

hmtoggle_plus1Division Code

The Division Code is not a mandatory field.  When specified and the Work Centre is referenced on a Part Operation and the Part Operation specifies that Material is to be Backflushed then the material will be Backflushed from the specified Division and Stores in this field.

 

This Division will also then be inserted as default in the Division field of the Part Operation function.

hmtoggle_plus1Document Ref Number

This field can be used to reference a document relating to the selected work center.

 

It is populated with the part number and the part description from the Part Master table (optional).

hmtoggle_plus1External

When the field is checked it means that work to be performed at this work centre will be outside of your company at a subcontractor. The work centre will be recognized as such by the functions Part Operations and Order Operations.

hmtoggle_plus1Labour Resource

When this field is not equal to " " (Spaces) and order operations are inserted via order lines being added and on the order line a node exists and the node allow labour to be costed via order operations. Then the order operations function will use the rates of the labour source for costing. The labour resource rates will also be used when actuals are reported against order operations.

hmtoggle_plus1Limit Capacity

This field indicates whether the work centre capacity is limited to Machines or labour. The user can select labour or machine this field works in conjunction with the field  Man-Machine Ration.

hmtoggle_plus1Machine Group

This code identifies the machine technology group to which a work center belongs.

 

It is an alphanumeric field with a maximum length of 6 characters (optional).

hmtoggle_plus1Man-Machine Ratio

It is the ratio of the number of operators per machine.   It is used when the work center is a machine or group of machines.

 

This ratio cannot be less than zero and can have a maximum value of 999.00.

hmtoggle_plus1Planner

This field identifies the planner responsible for the selected work center.  It is populated with the surname, first name, middle initial and employee ID from the Employee Master table where the status is Active (A) or Unavailable (U).

 

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (mandatory).

hmtoggle_plus1Plant Code

This code identifies the plant/factory to which a work center belongs.

 

It is an alphanumeric field with a maximum length of 6 characters (optional).

hmtoggle_plus1Scheduling Method

It is used to identify the Sequencing Rule to be used for part operations (routing) utilizing the work center. Minimum setup or earliest start can be selected.

 

According to the minimum setup (M) rule, the scheduling system must pick the job/operation that minimizes the change over time on the machine.  In this way, capacity utilization is maximized.

 

According to the earliest start (E) rule, the scheduling system will pick the job/operation with the earliest start date.

 

This information is especially useful when interfacing to a finite capacity scheduling system.

hmtoggle_plus1Standard Hours Per Day

This field is used to specify the available man hours per day for the selected work center.

 

It is also used for scheduling operations per work center and is used to determine capacity under and overloads.

 

This field cannot have a value less than zero and can have a maximum value of 999.00.

hmtoggle_plus1Store Code

The Store Code is not a mandatory field and will populate with Store Codes belonging to the selected Division.  When specified and the Work Centre is referenced on a Part Operation and the Part Operation specifies that Material is to be Backflushed then the material will be Backflushed from the specified Stores in this field.

 

This Store will also then be inserted as default in the Store field of the Part Operation function.

hmtoggle_plus1Utilisation

This field imply the utilization of the Work Centre during operations. A Work Centre can't be utilize at a rate of 100% and can be specify in this field what the percentage will be.

hmtoggle_plus1Work Centre Code

It is populated with the work centre code and description from the Work Centre table.

 

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of the "populate length" (mandatory).

 

It is an alphanumeric field where the length must be between 1 and 10 characters.

hmtoggle_plus1Work Centre Description

It is a short narrative description of the work center selected (mandatory).

 

It is an alphanumeric field where the length must be between 3 and 50 characters.

hmtoggle_plus1Active

When set to inactive (field "Active" not checked) the user will not be able to select this work centre on part or order operations.
