On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

hmtoggle_plus1Add

The  button is enabled when a valid part is selected in the "Available Parts" field.

When the  button is clicked, the selected part is added to the "Selected Parts" list box.

hmtoggle_plus1Apply Auto Releasing Of Purchase Orders

The option specifies whether the auto releasing of Purchase orders should be applied for a specific MRP run or not. The default for this option is checked.

If checked, it will result in the auto releasing of purchase orders for all parts with a valid predefined buying record and price detail on the tables External Organisation Parts and External Org Part Price where order splitting (the preference % is greater than 0), release horizon days is greater than 0 and a purchase order number have been specified.   Should MRP auto release a purchase order for an obsolete part, the part buyer will be informed via the Mail function.

If unchecked, MRP will, for the specific run, perform the order splitting in accordance with the preference percentages BUT will refrain from auto releasing the purchase orders.

The unchecked setting is specifically recommended for simulation runs and for normal run scenarios where the formal MPS is still subject to confirmation of feasibility or in any other selective run scenario where planners/buyers need to view the suggested orders prior to executing the auto releasing of purchase orders.

hmtoggle_plus1Available Parts

It displays all MRP planned parts.  It is populated with the part number and part description from the Part Master table where MRP Planned is Yes "Y" and the part number matches the part number entered.

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (mandatory).

hmtoggle_plus1Contract Number

It is populated with distinct contract numbers from the Order Master table where the order type is Customer "CUST".

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (optional).

When "Include" is selected, only customer order demand from orders bearing the selected contract number will be included in the MRP simulation run.

When "Exclude" (default) is selected, all customer order demand from orders bearing the selected contract number will be excluded from the MRP simulation run.

When "Exclude Firmed Customer Demands" and "Exclude Released Customer Demands" are checked, this field is disabled and the user  cannot select a Contract Number to be included in or excluded from the MRP simulation run since all firm and released demand from sales orders will be excluded anyway.

hmtoggle_plus1Customer

It is populated with the customer name and code from the External Organisation table where a debtors account code exists.

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (optional).

When "Include" is selected, requirements from customer orders will only be included in the MRP simulation run if the customer specified on the sales order matches the selected customer.

When "Exclude" (default), is selected, all requirements pegging to customer orders of the specified customer will be excluded from the MRP simulation run.

When both "Exclude All Firmed Customer Demands" and "Exclude All Released Customer Demands" are checked, this field is disabled and the user cannot select a Customer to be included or excluded from the MRP simulation run since all firm and released demand from sales orders will be excluded anyway.

hmtoggle_plus1Exclude All Firmed Customer Demands

When checked, all firmed customer order demands will be excluded from the MRP simulation run irrespective of customer or contract

number.

When unchecked (default), all firmed customer order demands will be included in the MRP simulation run except where a specific customer or contract has been excluded.

hmtoggle_plus1Exlcude All Firmed Dependent Demand

When checked, all firmed dependent demands (order creating demand not being a customer order) will be excluded from the MRP simulation run.

When unchecked (default), all firmed dependent demands will be included in the MRP simulation run.

This setting will automatically be checked if the "Supply" option "Exclude All Firmed Supply Orders" is checked.  This will not prohibit you from unchecking this setting.

hmtoggle_plus1Exclude All Released Customer Demands

When checked, all released customer order demands will be excluded from the MRP simulation run irrespective of customer or contract number.

When unchecked (default), all released customer order demands will be included in the MRP simulation run except where a specific customer or contract has been excluded.

hmtoggle_plus1Exclude All Released Dependent Demand

When checked, all released dependent demands (order creating demand not being a customer order) will be excluded from the MRP simulation run.

When unchecked (default), all released dependent demands will be included in the MRP simulation run.

This setting will automatically be checked if the "Supply" option "Exclude All Released Supply Orders" is checked.  This will not prohibit you from unchecking this setting.

hmtoggle_plus1Exclude Firm Forecast

If the setting on the MRP parameter passed for the setting Exclude Firm Forecast is checked, MRP wil check the status for all Sales Forecast and exclude all firmed forecasts where the status of the Forecasts on the Sales Forecast Detail table = "Firm".

hmtoggle_plus1Exclude Stores Issue Requisition

If the setting on the MRP parameter passed for the setting Exclude Stores Issue Requisition is checked, MRP will not consider the Requisitions when MRP is run.

hmtoggle_plus1From

The option Include All Planned Customer Demand is executed in conjunction with the horizon that is specified via the "from" date.

hmtoggle_plus1From Date

This field is enabled when "Include Quote Order with % Certainty" is checked. The default is todays date.

This date is applied in conjunction with the "To Date" in order to specify which quote order lines are to be included by the simulation run.

Other factors such as the percentage certainty and the quotation validity will also be taken into account.

hmtoggle_plus1Global Mrp Run

When "Global MRP Run" is selected, the MRP run will include All Global Run candidates as described below.

1.  All parts with independent demand from customer orders or the sales forecast.

2.All parts with a safety stock demand where the current stock level is below the safety stock level.

3.  All parts with an MPS Class specified on the Part Master.

4.All parts with negative stock on hand quantities.

Supply and demand analysis is performed on these parts. Thereafter, for each of these parts, their active product structures (bills of material) are read to determine their immediate planned components, which form the basis of the parts to be analysed on the next level.  This process is repeated level by level, until all planned levels in the product structure have been processed.

This may have an impact on performance especially if executed during normal working hours, thus competing with other system users for access to the multiple tables an MRP run requires access to.

The global run selected via this screen contains all the functionality of the global MRP run performed via the back end, with the exception that a fairly substantial performance penalty can be expected due to the constant report back on progress that the MRP run needs to communicate, whilst executing the supply demand analysis.

Rather setup regular scheduled Global MRP runs with either a daily or weekly frequency, on the MRP Global tab on System Configuration .

The user must have a security profile linked to the function MRP Global Run. The simulation options may be used for a Global MRP run if the user has a security profile linked to the function MRP Options Applied Non Simulation Mode. This will allow the exclusion of a specific supplier or customer from a non-simulation run.

hmtoggle_plus1Ignore Safety Stock

When checked, safety stock is not viewed as a requirement by MRP.  Also see Safety Stock on the Part Master.

hmtoggle_plus1Include All Planned Customer Demand

The default setting for this option is unchecked since normal MRP runs should not include requirements from planned customer order lines.

The option can be checked to include the planned independent demand from customer orders. The option is executed in conjunction with the horizon that is specified via the "from" and "to" dates provided in the frame.

If checked, MRP will include all requirements pegging to planned customer order lines where the order line completion date (ship date) falls between the "from" and "to" dates.

The Supply and Demand screen also provides the option to either include or exclude planned independent demand from customer orders.

hmtoggle_plus1Include Floorstock Requirement No Safety Stock

If the setting on the MRP parameter passed for the setting Include floorstock Requirements no Safety stock is checked, MRP must in addition to the requirements selected, also include any requirements where the Apply Floorstock code = 1 and add it to the existing requirements for the part, but all safety stock for parts where the floorstock indicator is Y must not be taken into consideration.

hmtoggle_plus1Include Floorstock Requirement With Safety Stock

If the setting on the MRP parameter passed for the setting Include floorstock Requirements with Safety stock is checked, MRP must in addition to the requirements selected, also include any requirements where the Apply Floorstock code = 1 and add it to the existing requirements for the part.

hmtoggle_plus1Include Planned Forecast

As with Firmed Orders, if the settings on the MRP parameter passed for the setting Exclude Planned Forecast is checked, MRP will include Planned Forecast orders from the Sales Forecast Detail table.

hmtoggle_plus1Include Quotes With % Certainty At Least:

When checked, the spinner control defaults to 50%.  The value entered will result in the inclusion of all customer order demand with a line status of quotation "Q" and a percentage certainty equal to or greater than the specified percentage.

NOTE: The order line ship date needs to fall between the specified from and to dates and, the quote must still be valid on the current date  (quote expiry date on the order line needs to be equal to or greater than todays date).

hmtoggle_plus1Project

If selected only Customer Orders linked to this Project will be included as demand. This might be further filtered by the other selection criteria.  If a project is selected no Project Group may be selected.

hmtoggle_plus1Project Group

If selected only Customer Orders linked to Projects belonging to this Project Group may be selected.  This may be further filtered by the other selection criteria.  If a Project Group is selected no Project may be selected.

hmtoggle_plus1Remove Button

The  button is enabled when the user selects a part(s) in the "Selected Parts" list.

When the  button is clicked, the selected part(s) is removed from the "Selected Parts" list and can be reselected from the "Available Parts" field.

hmtoggle_plus1Selected Parts

Displays the part number and description of the part(s) selected for MRP runs.

A maximum of ten selected parts is allowed per MRP run.

hmtoggle_plus1Selective Mrp Run

Selecting the option "MRP selective run", will enable you to selectively perform an MRP run for selected parts only (up to 10), or for a specific Sales Forecast, or for a specific Sales Order. When selected, the MRP run is performed on the parts selected in the "Selected Parts" list box.  It will also execute the run for all parts within the product structures of the selected parts.

The user must have a security profile linked to the function MRP Selective Run. The simulation options may be used for a selective MRP run if the user has a security profile linked to the function MRP Options Applied Non Simulation Mode. This will allow the exclusion of a specific supplier or customer from a non simulation run.

hmtoggle_plus1Simulation Mrp Run

When checked, a simulation selective or global run can be performed.  The run is performed in the same manner as a normal global/selective run with the exception that, all MRP action messages for replenishment orders will be prefixed with the abbreviation "SIM".

These replenishment orders may be acted upon as with normal replenishment orders in a planned stage.

NOTE: These simulation orders may be based on uncomplete supply and demand parameters as set in the Simulation frame.

hmtoggle_plus1Specific Contract

This option will enable the user to run a selective MRP run for a selected contract. The user may use this option after a contract consisting of multiple Customer orders was added or updated and whishes to execute MRP for all the parts within the contract. MRP will then process all the parts linked to all the customer orders linked to the selected Contract. The use can after selecting the contract click on the MRP Run Execute tab and click run.

hmtoggle_plus1Specific Forecast

This option is applied to selectively run MRP for a Specific Sales Forecast only.  Therefore, after adding a new Sales Forecast or maintaining an existing Forecast, you can select the Forecast ID from the list provided.  MRP will process all parts that have been linked to the selected Forecast ID.

hmtoggle_plus1Specific Sales Order

This option is applied to selectively run MRP for a Specific Sales Order only.  Therefore, after adding a new Sales Order via the Customer orders or Sales Order Wizard screens, or after maintaining an existing Sales Order, you can select the Sales Order number from the list provided.  MRP will process all parts that have been linked to the selected Sales Order via the Sales order lines.

hmtoggle_plus1To

The option Include All Planned Customer Demand is executed in conjunction with the horizon that is specified via the "to" date.

hmtoggle_plus1To Date

This field is enabled when "Include Quote Order with % Certainty" is checked. The default is todays date.

This date is applied in conjunction with the "From Date" in order to specify which quote order lines are to be included by the simulation run.

Other factors such as the percentage certainty and the quotation validity will also be taken into account.  This date must be greater than or equal to the "From Date".
