On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

hmtoggle_plus1Apply1

The apply button will write the transaction to the history table and will update the remaining working life on the working life consumption record.

hmtoggle_plus1Comments1

When the working life is consumed other than normal consumption, by an incident i.e. a power failure etc, the system requires the entry of a comment, This is just to clarify the incident. Users may however enter comments at ay time for future reference. Comments are stored in the history table.

hmtoggle_plus1Consumption Period

The consumption period is the difference between the date and time out and date and time in as selected on the working life consumption function. The remaining working life will be updated accordingly. You must however note that although normal consumption is calculated in this manner, when the working life is updated as a result of an incident, the date and time out will indicate the beginning of the incident and the date and time in will indicate the end of the incident. The consumption period may also be different as to the difference between the beginning and end of the period because the incident may be reflected different per commodity, and the storage condition may only be affected after a period since the incident began.

hmtoggle_plus1Date In1

When the user has selected a record for a sub lot for which there exists inventory and where the maximum record in the working life consumption table indicates that the date out is a valid date then the date in will be enabled. The date in will default to today's date but the user may select another date if applicable. The date in is the date that will be recorded in the working life consumption history as the date on which the item was returned to storage.

The difference between the date and time out and date in and time out and time in will be recorded as consumption of working life and the remaining working life will be updated accordingly.

hmtoggle_plus1Date Out1

When the user has selected a record for a sub lot for which there exists inventory and where the maximum record in the working life consumption table indicates that the date in is a valid date then the date out will be enabled. The date out will default to today's date but the user may select another date if applicable. The date out is the date that will be recorded in the working life consumption history as the date on which the item was removed from storage.

hmtoggle_plus1Location1

This is the location within the selected store where the part is kept. If the part is controlled on sub lot level then the location will contain the sub lot number which is separated by a # followed by 3 numbers in the location field. This is to be able to distinguish in the location table between inventory that has different sub lots and therefore different remaining working life hours.

hmtoggle_plus1Part Number1

This is the part to be removed or returned from or to the storage facility.  Only parts in the store selected above will be populated in this control.

hmtoggle_plus1Remaining Work Life1

The remaining working life is the number of hours that the part can still be used after removal from the special storage facility. The remaining working life is updated at each instance where the removal and return from the storage facility is recorded. A record for each such instance is kept in the working life consumption history table and is visible in the working life consumption list box.

Remaining working life can also be updated via the Working Life Consumption Update tab of this function.

hmtoggle_plus1Serial/Lot Number1

Only Serialised but normally Lot Controlled parts can have shelf life expiry and therefore Working life. The lot number will populate from existing serial/lot number in the location table to enable the user to select the remaining working life record of the part with inventory in the selected store.

hmtoggle_plus1Store1

The store is a definition of the special storage facility and must always be selected when stock is selected for the recording of working life consumption.

hmtoggle_plus1Sub Lot1

The sub lot is used when the working life of the part is controlled on sub lot level. This means that the lot consists of different packing unit i.e. a specific manufacturing lot received consists of more than one container which can be separately removed from and returned to the storage facility for processing. The sub lots must therefore be managed separately because working life is only consumed while the stock is not kept at optimum storage conditions.

hmtoggle_plus1Time In1

When the user has selected a record for a sub lot for which there exists inventory and where the maximum record in the working life consumption table indicates that the date out is a valid date then the date in will be enabled. The time in will default to the current time but the user may select another time slot applicable. The time in is the time that will be recorded in the working life consumption history as the time on which the item was returned to storage.

The difference between the date and time out and date in and time out and time in will be recorded as consumption of working life and the remaining working life will be updated accordingly.

hmtoggle_plus1Time Out1

When the user has selected a record for a sub lot for which there exists inventory and where the maximum record in the working life consumption table indicates that the date in is a valid date then the time out will be enabled. The time out will default to the current hour and minutes, but the user may select another time slot if applicable. The time out is the time that will be recorded in the working life consumption history as the time on which the item was removed from storage.  The difference between the date and time out and the date and time in when the item is returned will be calculated and recorded as the time consumed from the working life.

hmtoggle_plus1Working Life Consumption Listbox1

The working life consumption list box displays all the consumption records from the working life consumption history table for the selected part, serial/lot number, and sub lot number.

hmtoggle_plus1Working Life Consumption Tab

Tab one is used for recording the time lapse when a part is removed from the storage facility until the time it is returned to the facility. When removed the time out must be recorded and when returned the time in is recorded. The time lapse between the two instances is then recorded as the working life consumption and the remaining working life of the part is updated. It is also possible to record the remaining working life of a part for the first time if the part has existing inventory for which working life has not yet been recorded. Normally working life will be recorded upon receipt of the inventory via either the Supplier to Stores, Inspection to Stores or the Production to Stores movements via a pop up screen where both the working life and the shelf life can be recorded.
