The Part Substitutes function can be invoked by clicking on the Part Substitute button on the Requirements tab of an order.

 

The purpose of this function is to substitute a requirement part with another part. To substitute one requirement part with another part, both parts should be linked to the same Standard Item.

 

The Part Standard Item function is used to link parts to the same Standard Item.

 

On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

 

hmtoggle_plus1Controlling Division

It is a read only field that displays the division description from the Division table where the division code is equal to the controlling division on the Part Master table.
hmtoggle_plus1Part Description

It is a read only field that displays the part description from the Part Master table for the part number selected.
hmtoggle_plus1Part No.

It is populated with the part number and the part description from the Part Master table where the part is an MRP planned part or the part is a non-MRP planned phantom part.

 

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (optional).

 

When a part number is selected, the unit of measure, the controlling division and the description fields are populated.

It is a read only field that displays the part's unit of measure description from the Unit of Measure table.
