Purpose
This function is used to create product grouping codes. These codes are used to group product codes as defined on the Product Master function. This is used for reporting purposes only. I.e. On the Sales Analysis function one can run an analysis on a specific Product Grouping code. On the Product Master function a Product Grouping Code can be selected for the selected Product Master record.
On this tab the following fields can be viewed:
Purpose On opening the function this check box will indicate the status of the Grouping Code as last selected. As Active the code will be applied and populated in the function Product Master and when unchecked the selected Grouping Code cannot be used. This status may be changed as needed by an authorized user. |
Purpose The "Add" button is enabled when a new Product Grouping Code is entered.
Impact of changing the value When the "Add" button is clicked, the following is performed: It inserts the new Product Grouping Code with its detail into the Product Grouping Code table.
Security Settings / Who can change You must have a security profile linked to the function Product Grouping Code with an access allowed of Add. |
Purpose The "Change" button is enabled when an existing Product Grouping Code is selected. When the "Change" button is clicked, the following is performed: It updates the changes made in the Product Grouping Code table.

You must have a security profile linked to the function Product Grouping Code with an access allowed of Delete.
The "Delete" button is enabled when an existing product grouping code is selected. When the "Delete" button is clicked, the following is performed: It removes the product grouping code from the Product Grouping Code table. The delete will not be performed if this Product Grouping Code has been used to group product master records.
Impact of changing the value Will not always be used, but here we display warnings and what-if scenario’s. Delete section if not needed

This is a 10 characters unique identifier of the Product Grouping Code. It is populated with the Product Grouping Codes and descriptions from the Product Grouping Code table. The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (mandatory).
