The data on this tab is the responsibility of the sales manager.

 

It is applied to specify the trade discount applicable for a specific product/customer for a given validity period.  It is not required to specify the trade discount per product per customer. A customer has a default trade discount percentage specified on its External organization record, and it is only if special discounts apply for specific products where the need arises to specify the trade discount and period via this function.

 

When a sales order or a counter sale is processed, those functions will check if any special trade discount applies for the selected Customer and product that is currently valid. If such a record exists, it will be applied. If not, the discount from external organization will be applied.

 

On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Product Master with an access allowed of Add and must be the Product Sales Manager.

 

When the  button is clicked, a new customer discount record is created on the Product Discount Matrix table and a record is added to the list box.

 

The system will validate that dates are not overlapping before adding the discount record to the list box.

 

The discount percentage must be between zero and the value of Trade Discount Max Customer Orders specified on System Configuration .

Product discounts are listed in this list box per customer to which it applies, the trade discount percentage that applies and the validity period.

It is not required to specify the trade discount per product per customer. The user must have a security profile linked to the function Product Master with an access allowed of Change and must be the Sales Manager.

 

BUSINESS RULES WHEN CHANGING:

 

1.The "To" date must be greater than or equal to the "From" date.

 

2.The discount percentage must be between zero and the setting Trade Discount Max Customer Orders.

The customer is registered as a debtor external organisation with your company. It is populated with the name and organisation code from the External Organisation table where the trading status debtors is active "A".

 

The number of characters to be entered before the list is shown is governed by the value of "populate length" (mandatory).

 

This field governs how the list box will be populated.  If a customer is not entered, all customer's discount records are populated.

If checked, only discount records that are valid on today's date are listed.

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Product Master with an access allowed of Delete and must be the Product Sales Manager.

 

When the  button is clicked, the discount record will be removed from the list box and deleted from the Product Discount Matrix table.

hmtoggle_plus1Trade Discount %

This is the trade discount negotiated between the Buyer and the Seller.  It is not coupled to "Settlement Terms" which has its own settlement discount. If a sales order or a counter sale is processed, those functions will check if any special trade discount applies for the selected Customer and product that is currently valid. If such a record exists, it will be applied. If not, the discount from external organization will be applied.

 

This field can have a minimum value of zero and a maximum value equal to the Trade Discount Max Customer Orders as specified on System Configuration .

 

When a customer is selected to add a new record, the default trade discount percentage

is displayed in this field as a default value from the External Organization record of the selected Customer.

This field defaults to the day after the latest discount record for the customer.  This is the day from when the trade discount applies.

This field governs the end of the discount period starting from the "Valid From" date.  This field may not be less than the "Valid From" date
