When deleting, the user must have a security profile linked to the function Product Structure with an access allowed of Delete. The "Apply" button is enabled when a part is selected in either the Linked Components or the Linked Parents list box.

 

To permanently remove a part from the structure, select the part in the list box and click "Apply".  All deletes are ECP protected.  If the setting ECP Control Product Structure on System Configuration has a value of:

 

1.        "No", ECP control is not applied.

 

2.        "XDM", ECP control is applied irrespective of the development cycle of the selected maintained parent part.

 

3.        "ADM", ECP control is applied except where the development cycle of the selected maintained parent part is "XDM".

 

4.        "EDM", ECP control is applied except where the development cycle of the selected maintained parent part is "XDM" or "EDM".

 

5.        "PPM", ECP control is applied if the development cycle of the selected maintained parent part is "PPM", "PM", "PP" or "OBS".

 

6.        "PM", ECP control is applied if the development cycle of the selected maintained parent part is "PM", "PP" or "OBS".

 

When updating, the user must have a security profile linked to the function Product Structure with an access allowed of Change. When the "Apply" button is clicked, the fields, quantity per, scrap percentage, offset lead time, engineering change date, engineering change code, type of link, allocation percent of failure rate, IPC Reference, IPCannotation, drawing annotation, manufacturing part number, manufacturing deliver to operation, manufacturing operation type, repair part number, repair deliver to operation, repair operation type, repair required percentage, repair scrap percentage, parent part number, and component part number, on the Product Structure table are updated.

 

BUSINESS RULES WHEN UPDATING:

 

1.        If either the parent or component is an obsolete part, change is not allowed.
2.        The Quantity Per must be greater than zero.
3.        The Engineering Scrap % cannot be greater than 100.
4.        A valid Engineering Change Date must be selected.
5.        The L.S.A. Allocated % cannot be greater than 100.
6.        The L.S.A. Scrap % cannot be greater than 100.
7.        The Manufacturing Offset Lead Time cannot be greater than 120.
8.        An obsolete component part cannot be linked to a parent part that is not obsolete.
