Linked Components

It is populated whenever Component to be Linked, Component to be Replaced or Reference Parent drop down comboes, left and right hand side "Method", "View Options" or Effective Date are changed.

 

It is populated with component parts from the Product Structure table where the Parent part is equal to the reference parent part, for the selected reference parent if the "Method" is  or with selected component to be linked from the Product Structure table where the Method is  (Part Only).

 

It is populated with parent parts from the Product Structure table where the component part is equal to the component to be replaced if the method is  (Implode).

 

If View Parts is set to Show Active, only parts, where the engineering change date is less than the current date and the Link Status Code is equal to "A" or where the engineering change date is greater than the current date and the Link Status Code is equal to "I",  are displayed.

 

To delete parts from the "Linked Components" list box, select the part(s) to be deleted and click "Apply".  All deletes are ECP protected. If the field ECP Control Product Structure on System Configuration has a value of:

 

1.        "No", ECP control is not applied.

 

2.        "XDM", ECP control is applied irrespective of the development cycle of the

selected maintained parent part.

 

3.        "ADM", ECP control is applied except where the development cycle of the

selected maintained parent part is "XDM".

 

4.        "EDM", ECP control is applied except where the development cycle of the

selected maintained parent part is "XDM" or "EDM".

 

5.        "PPM", ECP control is applied if the development cycle of the selected

         maintained parent part is "PPM", "PM", "PP" or "OBS".

 

6.        "PM", ECP control is applied if the development cycle of the selected

maintained parent part is "PM", "PP" or "OBS".

 

Selecting an item in this list box results in the other tabs being populated with the selected item's details.
