Type Of Link

Training Manuals Alphabetical Function List Back Print this Topic Previous topicOne level upNext topic

The default for the type of link is "C" (consumed) which means that the component being linked is required and to be applied/consumed in the manufacturing process of the parent part.

If type of link "U" (utilized only) is selected, it means that the component is not consumed or built into the parent, but is only utilized in the process (such as tools, jigs, documents and others). NO requirements will be created for this type of link when orders are launched.

If type of link "E" (extra pieces) is selected, it means that the component being linked is required and to be applied/consumed in the manufacturing process of the parent part, but that in addition to the standard qty per, extra material is required to compensate for spilling or other losses such as chuck allowance. The formula for calculating the extra pieces is specified on the tab "QA and extra pieces".

If type of link "Q" (QA pieces) is selected, it means that the component being linked is not part of the parent part, but represents a QA piece to be manufactured on the same order to demonstrate that the process is under control (heat treatment, milling and others). The function will force the component to be a phantom part and the qty per must be 0.00. The formula for calculating the QA pieces is specified on the tab "QA and extra pieces".
