In order to place a part on hold (as described for the function Part On Hold History), a valid reason for placing the part on hold must be specified. A reason must also be specified when the on hold status of a part is lifted.
This function is applied to predefine a number of reason codes (e.g. Major ECP, Routing incomplete, Obsolete, Tool design incomplete and others) that can in turn be selected on the function "Part on hold history".
To add a new reason code:
Click the icon on the top left of the form that displays the tool tip "Add new record blank screen". The icon will only enable for users that have add-rights for this function.
Type the reason code (e.g. ECP, Obsolete, Tools etc.)
Select the reason type "Part on hold"
Type a reasonable "Description" for the reason code
Optionally type additional "Notes" to further describe the reason or its application
New records are forced to be added as active (active box checked).
Click the icon that displays the tool tip "Save" which saves the new reason code if no errors are found and all mandatory fields were completed.
Once the 1st record has been added, additional records can be added on a "same-as-except" method by clicking the icon that displays the tool tip "Add new record same as except".
To delete a reason code:
Click the icon that displays the tool tip "Delete". The icon will only enable for users that have delete-rights for this function.
If the trigger prevents the deletion of a reason code since it has already been applied but you wish to prevent future use of the reason code, set the active status to inactive by un-checking the "active" box (see details to change a reason code).
To change details for a reason code:
Select the reason code
Once any data is changed in the appropriate field, the "save" icon will enable if the user has update/change-rights for the function.
The description, comments and active status can be changed.
