Location Setup Format

On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

This field is enabled when "Predefine Location Format" is checked on the "Store" tab and the signed on user is the Store Manager or Acting for Store Manager. The user can then enter an alternative format if he/she is required to do so.

It is an alphanumeric field with a maximum length of 20 characters (optional).

RULES FOR THE SETUP FORMAT:

1.	The first character may never be a " ".

2.	Th user does not need to enter values for all 20 blocks.

3.	For the blocks left blank, they must contain a blank/space.

When the user enters a value in the setup format, the values are translated, and displayed as follows:

A (is to allow an alpha character)

9 (is to allow a numeric character of 0-9)

X (is to allow any type of character)

Blank (is to allow only a blank/space)

Therefore a format set up as A9 9* will translate into a starting alphabetic character, followed by a numeric character, a space, a numeric character, and ended by any type of character.

The location must be five characters long.

The user must have a security profile linked to the function Store with an access allowed of Inquire.

The "Apply" button is only enabled when the signed on user is the Store Manager or Acting for Store Manager. When the "Apply" button is clicked, the following updates are performed:

1.	A check is performed to see that the format code does not start with spaces and that a preferred format has been entered.

2.	The Store table is updated for the selected division, and store where location format predefined is equal to "1" and the field values on the table are set as follows:

Location Format Preferred = Format Preferred entered.

Location Format Alt 1 = Alternative Format 1 entered.

Location Format Alt 2 = Alternative Format 2 entered.

This list box displays the format codes and their descriptions, and is used as a guideline by the signed on user to setup the location formats or to interpret the location format.

It displays the code and description from the Column Values table where the column name is equal to "Location Format Codes".

The user can change the preferred format if he/she is the Store Manager or Acting for Store Manager. It is an alphanumeric field with a maximum length of 20 characters (mandatory).

When the user enters a value in the setup format, the values are translated, and displayed as follows:

U = A (U is to allow an alpha character)

% = 9 (% is to allow a numeric character of 0-9)

* = X (* is to allow any type of character)

Blank (is to allow only a blank/space)
