The System Configuration Grouping function is used to create Groups to link Settings on the Configuration tab of the System Configuration function to.  This will enable the user to filter settings that is not applicable to certain areas and not display them for the specific selected group.

 

On the first tab a Group Name can be created or deleted and settings can be linked or unlinked to the selected group name.

 

On the second tab there are two options:

 

Selecting the Group will display all the settings that is linked to the selected group, and

 

Selecting the Setting will display all the Groups that this setting is applicable to.

 

On this tab the following fields can be viewed:

This list box displays all the settings that is not yet linked to a Group.  Multi selection can be made by keep the Shift key down and selecting all the required settings to be linked.

 

When empty indicate that all settings are linked to the selected Group.

This button will enable when a Group was selected in the Group combo.  On deletion the group name will be deleted.

hmtoggle_plus1Group

This combo box displays the existing names of Groups that is stored in the System_Configuration_Group table. On open the box will default to empty and all available settings will populate in the Available Settings list box.

 

The box will also clear when the New Group button is clicked that will enable the user to add a new name that can be used as a Group.

 

This box also populates with all the existing names of Groups that is available.  On selecting a specific Group, all linked settings will populate in the Linked Settings list box and all the available settings that is not linked to that group - all the settings that is left, will populate in the Available Settings list box.

This button will link the selected settings in the Available to Lnk list box to the selected Group name.

This button will link all the settings to the selected Group name.  On clicking all settings will populate as linked in the Linked Settings list box.

This list box populates with all the settings that are linked to the selected Group.

 

When empty indicates that no setting is linked to the selected Group name.

hmtoggle_plus1New Group

This button when clicked will clear the Groups combo as well as the Linked Settings List box and enable the user to type a new Group Name in the Group combo.

 

The button will be disabled when the Group combo is empty, because a new name can be typed into the combo.

hmtoggle_plus1Remove

This button will remove the selected linked settings from the selected Group name to repopulate themn in the Available Settings list box.

hmtoggle_plus1Remove All

This button will remove all linked settings that displays in the Linked Settings list box to repopulate them in the Available to Link list box.
